Ukraine plans to have built 11 million square meters of housing by the end of 2013. As of Dec. 18, since the beginning of 2013,  10.304 million square meters of housing have been commissioned, which is up  8.3% YOY. In fact, 100,000 square meters of housing are commissioned daily. This was announced by Gennady Temnyk, Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services, during a meeting of the Ministerial Board. The minister summarized performance of the construction sector in 2013 and outlined the prospects for 2014. Considerable attention was paid to the progress of government programs of affordable housing, the Information-Analytical Bulletin of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine informs.

Temnyk said 1,978 contracts were made for a total of 462.1 million UAH in 2013. Also, the Program of reducing cost of mortgages to provide affordable housing to citizens in need of better housing conditions is ongoing. Some 3,211 loans have been issued for the total amount of 747.4 million UAH since the program inception in 2012. Some 531 residential buildings have been completed, 21,869 apartments have been made available to citizens.

Pursuant to the Program of state support for construction of affordable housing, 876 contracts for 96.4 million UAH and 420 preferential mortgage loans for 143.7 million UAH have been issued under the Housing program for young people for 2013-2017 years.

The Ukrainian villages get developed as well. Thus, pursuant to Ukrainian village Development Program until 2015, 4133 loans have been issued. Of them, 1,338 loans issued for housing construction, and 2,795 - for private house utilities. The loans were used to build 757 houses with a total area of 71,510 square meters, 2,625 houses have been gasified, according to the ministry.
