Construction of the underground in Troyeshchina district of Kyiv is scheduled to begin no earlier than March 2014, deputy KCSA chief Mykhailo Kostiuk said.
According to him, 100 thousand hryvnia are provided for design works.
"This is a serious project, rather big money. We have a very responsible approach to terms, and efficiency. Metro is the flagship transport. Of course, works depend on financing, but I see no reason not to begin construction next year - to hold tender procedures and start work in March," Kostiuk said.
He recalled that the total cost of the branch construction is estimated at 16 billion hryvnia. The branch will be laid along the Mayakovsky Avenue.
