Christmas tree in Lviv will be decorated with symbols of Ukraine and the EU, the press service of the Lviv City Council, with reference to chief of the Council’s culture department Iryna Podoliak, reported.
"This tree will embody our European aspirations and patriotic spirit. It will be a symbol of position of Lviv citizens, symbol of solidarity with EuroMaidan," said Podoliak.
According to her, Christmas tree will be decorated with the toys painted by children in schools. "There will be stars of the European Union and the Ukrainian trident and blue ribbons," Podoliak said.
Main tree of the city will be solemnly unveiled on December 19.
