Head of the EU's Delegation to Ukraine-EU Committee for Parliamentary Cooperation Pawel Kowal believes that Ukraine can still sign the Association Agreement with the EU in Vilnius summit of "Eastern Partnership". He said this during a press conference in Kyiv, ForUm correspondent reports.

"Today there are no legal contradictions to signing of the Agreement in Vilnius. The situation has not improved, but it has not become worse as well," he said. According to him, it’s too early to talk about plan "B" for the Association with the EU, as two days are left.

"Having conducted several meetings in Kyiv, I am convinced that politicians can do this (to sign the agreement with the EU - Ed.)," he said.

Kowal added that for 10 years in Ukraine there were a lot of unexpected decisions, were made in the last seconds.

He also believes that strategic pauses do no good. "I am against strategic pauses. We know very well what they mean: it’s not a pause, it’s a space, in which someone else wants to intrude," he said.

He noted that the EU’s door for Ukraine will remain open.
