Signing of the Association Agreement with the European Union will make it possible to reduce food prices, representative of the Ukrainian Agrarian Association Marian Zablotsky told a roundtable, ForUm correspondent reports.
"In case of signing of the Association with the EU, food prices in Ukraine will decline due to increased competition," he said.
According to the expert, sunflower oil, meat products and cheeses will fall in price by few per cent. "At the same time we could sell these products in international markets," he noted.
Zablotsky stressed that opening of domestic markets will be profitable for 45 million Ukrainian consumers. "Now we are thinking about one side - it is not profitable for individual enterprises, but we forget about the Ukrainian consumers," he said.
Nevertheless, the expert said that all Ukrainian companies, surviving the competition with European goods, will be able not only move effectively in the domestic markets, but in the world markets as well.
