The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine plans to approve the plan to modernize engineering infrastructure of internal irrigation systems and incentive schemes by expansion of irrigated land areas, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said during the Cabinet’s meeting, ForUm correspondent reports.
According to him, the expansion of irrigated land areas in the southern regions is extremely important for full use of Ukrainian agricultural potential and reduction of dependence of yields on climate changes.
"We are planning to approve the plan, which provides the modernization of engineering infrastructure of internal irrigation systems and incentive schemes on the part of the state by expansion of irrigated areas," Azarov concluded.
