Prime Minister Mykola Azarov hopes for removal of trade barriers in mutual trade among the CIS countries, he said during the Cabinet’s meeting, ForUm correspondent reports.
"This year Ukraine has lost a quarter of the trade volume with the CIS countries. Who needs such a scenario? I think nobody needs," he said.
According to him, members of the Council of Heads of Governments of the CIS countries analyzed in detail the problems revealed after implementation of the free trade agreement.
"Everyone understood that it is absolutely wrong and unacceptable to build new barriers in the CIS in the context of the global recession. We must use mechanisms to maintain the economic growth, which we can control in contrast to the situation on the global markets," the Prime Minister stressed.
Azarov noted that this approach will allow Ukraine reaching important agreements.
