The Verkhovna Rada did not support the bill on free sale of traumatic weapons, the Parliament's website reports.
Further study is required for the issue of granting citizens, who have reached the age of 25, the right to purchase pistols and revolvers of domestic production with rubber or similar non-lethal missiles.
In addition, the accompanying documents to the draft law are advised to specify the necessity of its adoption.
The draft law on free sale of traumatic weapons was developed by the Government of Ukraine.
The document stipulates that Ukrainian citizens, who have reached 25 years of age, shall have the right to buy "pistols and revolvers of domestic production with rubber or similar non-lethal missiles".
According to the Internal Ministry of Ukraine, 180 thousand units of traumatic weapon are now in hands of the residents of the country.
