The United States of America is ready to provide assistance to Ukraine in meeting the conditions required for the signing of the Association Agreement with the European Union.

This was announced by U.S. assistant secretary for European and Eurasian affairs Victoria Nuland after the meeting with Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, ForUm correspondent reports.

According to her, Yanukovych clearly indicated that Ukraine had made its choice and that choice was in favor of Europe. "The United States supports Ukraine's right to make choices and is ready to support Ukraine in its efforts to fulfill the requirements needed to sign the Agreement with the EU and get benefits from the free trade area," Nuland said.

In her opinion, Ukraine has already done a lot for the signing of the Agreement with the EU, as dozens of major laws and regulations are adopted.

Nuland stressed that the U.S. is also ready to support Ukraine in discussions with the IMF.

"This debate will help to get the help needed for further reforms in Ukraine," the assistant secretary summed up.
