The "Eastern Partnership" Summit in Vilnius will sum up the work of Ukraine on the European integration, particularly the work of the last three years, President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych stated in the course of the communication with journalists in Svitlodarsk (Donetsk region), the press service of the head of state reports.
"If we sign the agreement in November – and I am confident that we will sign it – it will mean that we have achieved our goal at the given stage," the President said.
"We have been working on the transition to the new standards in various spheres for many years… European standards are the demand of time," the Head of State noted.
He reminded that Ukraine was an export-oriented country that exported 60% of its products. "The main task of industrial modernization of our enterprises was to make us competitive," Viktor Yanukovych said.
"When we speak of European integration, first of all it means that we must build Europe in Ukraine," the President emphasized.
He also noted that the FTA Agreement with the EU would create absolutely different conditions of relations with consumers. "We will get a huge market – 28 countries. I am sure that with this opportunity we will get better financial results. This market will be an absolutely new one in terms of the volume of sales," the Head of State stressed.
Speaking of relations with the Customs Union, Viktor Yanukovych emphasized: "We have not a single reason to worsen these relations. Moreover, there is a bilateral necessity to improve them," the President said.
