The reforms, being conducted in the country for the last three years, have laid the foundation for the modernization of the state, President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych said during a plenary session of the Sixth International Investment Summit "Sustainable development: energy efficiency, resource conservation, environmental safety" in Donetsk.
"We have already initiated various reforms, including the major modernization of the country," he said.
According to Yanukovych, a strong state cannot be built without a close interaction among the President, the Cabinet, the Parliament and the civil society.
As Yanukovych stressed, "a major overhaul" has been launched in Ukraine. "Of course, it creates an inconvenience in our big house, in Ukraine. However, all the developed countries passed these inconveniences, these processes, and these discussions".
"Without waiting for the end of the world economic crisis, we began an extensive program of modernization of our country in 2010," the Head of State said, recalling that the implementation of these reforms is designed for the long term.
