Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov instructed relevant ministries to draft a plan for navigation along the Dnipro River to carry out cereals import by river transport, ForUm correspondent reports.
The order was given to the Infrastructure Ministry, the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry, the Industrial Policy Ministry at the Cabinet’s meeting.
Azarov noted that at the meeting of the Council of Regions, President Viktor Yanukovych drew attention to the poor exploiting the potential of water transport in Ukraine.
"Therefore, these ministries are required to draft the national program for the resumption of navigation along the Dnipro River for the needs of agricultural production and submit it to the Cabinet before the year-end," Azarov concluded.
