1 million 200 thousand (2.5% ) citizens of Ukraine are registered with psychiatric institutions, chief non-staff psychiatrist of the Health Ministry of Ukraine Iryna Pinchuk told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.
"Out of 1 million 200 thousand registered, 18-20% of Ukrainians suffer from severe mental illness and may pose a threat to the community, 10% suffer from mental retardation, and 70-75% have psychosis, neurosis, asthenia," she said.
Psychiatrist added that every third Ukrainian needs psychiatric help throughout his life.
