Ukraine wants to exclude the issue of increasing gas prices for the population from the negotiations with the IMF. "We want to exclude the issue from our discussion," economic development and trade minister of Ukraine Ihor Prasolov said during a meeting with foreign media, the press service of the Ministry informs.

"Prospects for using the potential of domestic gas production, as well as carrying out energy-saving measures are important arguments, which, I hope, will allow Ukraine to exclude demands for higher gas prices for the population from the negotiations with the IMF," he noted.

In his view, the viability of development of domestic natural gas production is confirmed by the interest shown by the largest energy corporations, such as Shell, Chevron and Exxon Mobil.

At the same time, he said that Ukraine is ready to discuss the option of replacing the increase in gas price with some other requirements.
