Doors to the EU and NATO membership remain open for Ukraine, NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen announced on Thursday.

Rasmussen said he did not question the "Euro-Atlantic" future of Ukraine.

In February of this year, at the regular meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission at the level of defense ministers in Brussels, Rasmussen confirmed that NATO’s decision, adopted at the summit in Bucharest in 2008, on that Georgia and Ukraine are eligible for membership in the Alliance, remains in force.

NATO Secretary General added that Ukraine should itself determine the direction of cooperation with NATO in the coming years.
