The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine pre-approved amendment to the Constitution of Ukraine on strengthening the guarantees of independence of judges.
As ForUm correspondent reports, a draft resolution on the pre-approval of the European integration bill "On Amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine on strengthening the guarantees of judges’ independence", initiated by the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, was supported by 244 MPs.
In particular, the resolution was voted for by 197 members of the Party of Regions, 31 Communist Party members, and 16 individual MPs.
After the opposition informed of that allegedly two MPs from the Party of Regions faction voted instead of their colleagues, Rybak put the draft resolution on the revote. The result confirmed.
