The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development allocated loan funds worth 15.5 million euro to build the first national power station on solid biomass, EBRD director in Ukraine Sevki Acuner told a conference, ForUm correspondent reports.

According to the economist, the electric power amounts to 18 MW, the total cost - 25.9 million euro. "Almost 40% of the project cost will be covered by the EIG Engineering company. This power plant will be located in Ivankiv village, Kyiv region," the expert said.

He noted that the share of EBRD financing in the project is 9.9 million euro, and another 5.6 million will be provided by global Clean Technology Fund. 

"Construction is being carried out now, the launch of the first stage with power of 6 MW is planned for October 2013. The launch of the second stage with power of 12 MW is planned for the next year," the director of the EBRD in Ukraine said.
