President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to coordinate the activities of the State Service for Intellectual Property of Ukraine through the economic development and trade minister of Ukraine. The relevant decree of the President of Ukraine № 549/2013 of October 8 has been posted on the President’s website.
"The activities of the State Service for Intellectual Property of Ukraine shall be directed and coordinated by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine through the economic development and trade minister of Ukraine," the document says.
In this regard, amendments were introduced to section IV of the Scheme of organization and interaction of the central executive authorities, approved by the Decree of December 9, 2010 № 1085 "On optimization of the system of central bodies of executive power".
In addition, Yanukovych instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to submit proposals on introduction in the acts of the President the amendments arising from this Decree; bring the acts of the Cabinet, the ministries and other authorized central executive authorities into compliance with this Decree.
The decree comes into force upon the date of its publication.
As a reminder, the State Intellectual Property Service of Ukraine was coordinated previously by the Education and Science Ministry.
