In Kyiv, the prices for vegetables included in a borshch set are higher than in other regions, agrarian policy and food minister of Ukraine Mykola Prysiazhniuk said during a visit to the permanent agricultural fair in the Pechersk district of Kyiv, ForUm correspondent reports.

"Of course, the Kyiv prices are higher than in other regions, but we are monitoring in the Ministry what percentage of average salary a person spends on the borshch set. In Kyiv, this percentage is very low, because the salary in the capital is higher," the minister said.

He said that the Ministry daily monitors prices in the country.

"The average price in Ukraine for potatoes is 3.4 UAH, beet - 3.2 UAH," Prysiazhniuk said.

The minister praised the Volyn region for providing citizens with cheap fruit and vegetables.
