Russia’s Federal Veterinary and Phytosanitary Oversight Service (Rosselkhoznadzor) has found Listeria bacteria in frozen poultry meat produced by Tavr-Plus LLC (Donetsk region), according to the Web site of the Russian agency.

Earlier reports said that there was an excessive amount of mesophilic aerobic and facultative anaerobic microorganisms in the produce of the company.

If this indicator is exceeded, such products are not recommended for consumption, Interfax-Ukraine reported.

Rosselkhoznadzor then introduced enhanced controls over poultry imported to Russia by Tavr-Plus LLC.

Rosselkhoznadzor and the State Veterinary and Biosecurity Service of Ukraine previously restricted Tavr-Plus’ supplies to the Customs Union states.

Tavr-Plus LLC was founded on the basis of Artemivsk meat processing plant in May 2008.
