Intergovernmental negotiations between Russia and Ukraine on energy issues will be held in Moscow in early October, Russian Deputy Energy Minister Anatoly Yanovsky said at the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council at the level of the heads of governments.

"We have just agreed to hold a meeting of the sub-commission on energy cooperation in the near future. It will be held in Moscow. We have sent an invitation to our Ukrainian partners. We will discuss all issues there," he said.

Responding to a question about the specific dates of the meeting, Yanovsky said the date has not been determined yet, but has said he assumed that the meeting would take place before October 12, Interfax reported.

Asked whether the meeting will address the supply of Russian gas to Ukraine, Yanovsky said: "Gas supply is a corporate issue. Naftogaz Ukraine and Gazprom are always discussing it. However, [that issue] has nothing to do with intergovernmental relations."

"We have a lot of issues there, including oil and electricity," Yanovsky said.
