Ukraine is fulfilling its obligations and agreements in its cooperation with NATO, in particular, concerning its participation in Operation Ocean Shield, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych stated.
"We have summed up the results of our cooperation. Ukraine has once again fulfilled its promises and principles," he said in an interview with Ukrainian journalists in New York, when asked to comment on his meeting with NATO Secretary General Andres Fogh Rasmussen.
In particular, he said that the flagship of the Ukrainian Navy, the Hetman Sahaidachny, is currently heading to participate in Operation Ocean Shield to combat piracy in the Horn of Africa and the Gulf of Aden.
"We are preparing for the Ukraine-NATO summit, which will take place in 2014," Yanukovych added.
