The issue of former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko will be resolved after the work of the European Parliament’s mission of former European Parliament President Pat Cox and former Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski is completed on October 21, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych said in an interview with Ukrainian journalists in New York, while speaking about his meeting with European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso and European Council President Herman Van Rompuy.

"I repeatedly gave answers that the mission is currently working, and it’s very important. Earlier there was an impression that we don’t want to do something there. Today there is a common point of view on many issues, but it will be known when the results of this mission are summed up," he said, Interfax-Ukraine reported.

Yanukovych said that the issue concerned an exchange of views ahead of the event that is important to Ukraine and the EU – the Eastern Partnership summit in Vilnius.

"These are peculiar results of the work we have done. And we actually have two questions remaining – these are the questions of the law on prosecutor’s office and the electoral law. And the third question is the case of Tymoshenko," he said.
