Signing of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement in Vilnius will be successful, former Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti said in exclusive comments to ForUm correspondent during the Yalta European Strategy 10th annual meeting.
"I hope that the process of convergence with the European Union will accelerate. It is important that preparations are thorough and structured. If all of the conditions set for Ukraine are implemented, the process will pass without any difficulties," he said.
At the same time, according to the former prime minister, Europe, together with Ukraine will try to change the position of the Russian Federation on the process of European integration.
"Now Europe needs to bring to Russia that the process of European integration of Ukraine is natural, and it does not have an aggressive nature," Monti said.
