The EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, expected to be signed in the next few months, will be beneficial not only for the Ukrainian state, but also for its neighbors, especially Russia.

This was stated by European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Stefan Füle during the 10th Yalta Annual Meeting on September 19.

"The Association Agreement refers not only to Ukraine, but our neighbors as well. Russia, of course, will benefit from this agreement," Füle said.

According to him, Kyiv is not to choose between Brussels and Moscow. "We want our partners to have good working relations and cooperation with Russia and other neighboring countries," the Commissioner said.

Füle also added that Europe sees Russia as a special strategic partner.

"We will do everything for the Association Agreement and the Deep Comprehensive Free Trade Area to create the idea of a free trade area from Lisbon to Vladivostok," Füle said.
