Ukraine is ready to provide technical assistance in the destruction of chemical weapons in Syria, President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych said during a speech at the 10th annual meeting of Yalta "Ukraine and the world in the age of change: success factors", the press service of the head of state reports.
"I would like to offer Ukrainian technologies for the destruction of chemical weapons in Syria. We have such experience, and we have mobile units, which are patented by Ukraine and which proved their effectiveness in practice. And we are ready to work together with the experts to use them for the speedy destruction of chemical weapons in Syria," Yanukovych said.
According to him, the positive factor is that the recent events in Syria have started to develop peacefully, through political settlement. "And today, it is important to support this direction," he said.
