The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine is disappointed with incompetent estimates of the Russian representatives on the state and prospects of development of relations between Ukraine and Russia.
"In this regard and in the context of recent biased statements made by Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman, September 19 this year, the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine summoned minister counsellor of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Ukraine and presented him oral demarche," the statement says.
According to the Foreign Ministry, the Russian party noted that the statements of an ordinary employee of the Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation does not have an official character and confirmed that he had exceeded the scope of his authority and "diplomatic language".
The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine expects appropriate response of the Russian Foreign Ministry to such statements.
"We also hope for appropriate assessment of the planned signing of the Association Agreement with the European Union and the development of peer relations and mutually beneficial cooperation with the CU/ EEA, in the spirit of the strategic partnership between our countries," the report says.
The Foreign Ministry stressed that Ukraine does not set cooperation in the European sector against relations with the Eurasian community.
