Ukraine is 98% ready for the heating season, head of municipal power system department of the Ministry of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Olena Malezhyk announced today, ForUm correspondent reports.
"Less than two weeks are left, and we understand that by October 1, we have to finish all the works and timely start the heating season," she said.
According to Malezhyk, 96% of houses and 98% of boiler plants are ready for the heating season.
"In addition to the planned works, this year we plan a large-scale reconstruction of 663 boilers. As of today, the plan is implemented by 98%. Also, more than one thousand of boilers were replaced and one thousand underwent thorough overhaul," the official said.
In addition, according to Malezhyk, 477 km of heat networks will be replaced in Ukraine by October 1.
"467 km of heat networks have been already replaced, to repair two thousand km of water supply networks and one thousand km of sewage networks have been repaired," she said.
Before the beginning of the heating season, the Ministry of Regional Development has prepared six thousand units of specialized equipment.
