Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has introduced a bill in parliament on the approval of the Ukrainian president’s decision to send peacekeeping troops for Ukraine’s participation in the United Nations Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo, reads a statement posted on the Web site of the Verkhovna Rada.

A respective bill was tabled in Parliament on Wednesday.

According to the explanatory note to the bill, it was drafted to ensure the legal registration of presidential decree No. 515 of September 17, 2013 on the sending of a national contingent for Ukraine’s participation in the United Nations Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Interfax-Ukraine reported.

The decree notes that a national contingent of up to 300 troops is sent to Congo in the terms defined by the UN Security Council.
