Syria's armed forces are ready for defense in case of military strikes by the United States, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Syrian Arab Republic in Ukraine Mohamed Said Akil told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.
"For 2.5 years we have been fighting against international terrorism and the countries that are on its side. We will defend our homeland. We will defend ourselves, and we can do it," he said.
At the same time, the Ambassador stressed that Syria will not be left alone with this problem.
"Syria is not alone. We have the so-called axis of resistance, which includes Lebanese party of resistance "Hezbollah" and Iran. This is considered to be one axis, which is always ready to defend Syria. This was announced by the leaders of these countries and this party. We are able and will defend our country," the diplomat said.
