The main cause of the accident at the Stirol concern plant in Horlivka Donetsk region was poor technical condition of ammonia pipe, caused by corrosion of the environment, as well as the erosion of the working environment, chief of territorial department of the State Service of Mining Supervision and Industrial Safety of Ukraine in Donetsk region Vyacheslav Korol informed.
According to him, the ammonia pipe is 29 years old, the rules of its checks were developed in 1969. These include a spot check every 4 years.
According to him, the expert panel recommended to prosecute 14 employees, 5 of them, in general the management of the department where the accident occurred, - to dismiss.
The State Service of Mining Supervision and Industrial Safety of Ukraine also recommended the Stirol concern in the next three months to conduct ultrasonic analysis of all the pipes in the enterprise.
