Today, the Supreme Military Court of Libya cancelled the conviction of 19 Ukrainian citizens, sentenced to ten years in prison, ForUm correspondent learned from the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine press office.
Representative of the Ministry confirmed that the Supreme Military Court of Libya at the today’s hearing cancelled conviction of 19 Ukrainian citizens sentenced to ten years in prison.
At the same time, the press service specified that now the case is transferred to the court of general jurisdiction.
"The verdict, pronounced in June 2012 by Tripoli Military Court, has been cancelled. The case was transferred to the court of general jurisdiction," the Foreign Ministry reports.
It should be noted that now the prosecutor is represented by the Prosecutor General’s Office of the country, which will decide whether to adhere to earlier charges or to reclassify the case.
