About a thousand people were enrolled in the higher military educational institutions of Ukraine, acting director of the military education and science department of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine Major-General Ihor Tolok told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.
According to him, more than 15% of the enrolled are young people from rural areas. In addition, 26 children-orphans and children deprived of parental care, 26 medalists were enrolled in the higher military educational institutions of Ukraine. More than 8% are members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who serve under the contract.
Acting director of the military education and science department also said that more than 160 girls expressed their desire to enroll in higher military educational institutions this year. Of them, about 30% were enrolled.
