New Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt arrived in Kyiv on Saturday, U.S. Embassy in Ukraine informs.
“Geoffrey R. Pyatt is a Senior Foreign Service officer, arrived in Kyiv on August 3, 2013 as the eighth U.S. ambassador to Ukraine,” the statement reads.
As a reminder, the new U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Pyatt took oath at the State Department in Washington on July 30.
The Senate approved candidacy of Pyatt as U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine on July 9. He replaces Ambassador John Tefft, who assumed his duties in Ukraine on November 20, 2009.
