On July 24, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the updated Energy Strategy of Ukraine until 2030, energy and coal industry minister of Ukraine Eduard Stavytsky told reporters in Kyiv on Thursday.

"Yes, they approved it," he said.

The minister did not specify the planned share of renewable energy in the energy balance of the country, as well as other details about the document, Interfax-Ukraine informed.

In March this year it was reported, with reference to the draft Energy Strategy of Ukraine until 2030, that the share of renewable energy in the energy balance of the country in 2030 could reach 18%, and in the structure of electricity generation – 10%.

Previously, a number of experts and international partners of Ukraine criticized Kyiv for the intention to stipulate in the Energy Strategy too low a share of renewable energy – at a level of about 2%.
