The Education and Science Ministry plans to conduct a thorough overhaul of 2.5 thousand schools in the current year, minister Dmytro Tabachnyk told a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers, ForUm correspondent reports.
"A thorough overhaul is planned in 2.500 schools and running repairs – in 14 thousand schools," he explained.
The minister added that all repairs are carried out according to schedule, and local education authorities control this process.
"In addition, it is planned to renovate 2600 kitchens and 1220 roofs in schools before the yearend," he said.
Tabachnyk added that 84% of vocational schools are ready for the beginning of the school year.
