In the near future, "trade wars" with Russia may intensify, head of the Penta Center for Applied Political Studies Volodymyr Fesenko said during the roundtable, ForUm correspondent reports.

According to the expert, the ban on supply of the domestic production of Roshen is a signal for other Ukrainian businessmen working in Russia.

"There are reasons to believe that the new protective measures against our confectionery products and pipes are just the beginning of the next wave of trade wars. And the motivation is not economic but political," the expert said.

He added that Moscow’s trade wars and closing of the market for domestic goods can have two purposes, including failure to sign the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union and the concealment of inefficient development of the Customs Union.
