A constant monitoring of arrival of counterfeit textbooks in the Ukrainian book market of Ukraine is conducted in Ukraine, education and science minister of Ukraine Dmytro Tabachnyk told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.

"The Ministry together with the Association of Ukrainian Publishers and representatives of the State Consumer Protection Service are monitoring bookstores, large book markets to avoid using falsified in the school," he said.

According to results of raids, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine fined two publishers, their literature is confiscated.

The minister also informed that the ACU hears cases about four more publishers and ten editions.

Tabachnyk warned parents and teachers against buying expensive pseudo-textbooks. "I want to warn teachers and parents against buying expensive textbooks. This is a classic case of fraud," he warned.

Tabachnyk stated that these books are unreasonably expensive as in retail they cost at least 55-70 UAH, while the high quality brand new textbook for Grade 5 worth 18 UAH.
