Ukraine intends to increase the supply of grain crops, flour and cereals, as well as to start the export of meat and dairy products, sugar and confectionery products to Palestine. A corresponding memorandum was signed on July 24 by agrarian policy and food minister of Ukraine Mykola Prysiazhniuk and agriculture minister of Palestine Walid Mahmoud Mohammed Assaf.
"The main direction of cooperation between Ukraine and Palestine is a trade and economic partnership in the field of agriculture. For the first five months in 2013, Ukraine supplied agricultural products worth 2.6 million USD to Palestine. After the signing of the memorandum, our trade partnership in the agricultural sector will increase significantly and will reach a new level," Prysiazhniuk noted.
According to him, Ukraine exports to Palestine cereals, flour, grain crops and sunflower oil. However, after the signing of this memorandum, Ukraine may begin supplying meat and dairy products, eggs, sugar and confectionery to the Palestinian market.
