First Vice Prime Minister Serhiy Arbuzov instructed to check the quality of products in public catering networks due to increased number of cases of poisoning people.

"The state is obliged to worry about safety and comfort of citizens. The traditional problem in summer is an increase in number of outbreaks of food poisoning and acute intestinal infections," the official emphasized during the Cabinet’s meeting, ForUm correspondent reports.

Arbuzov noted that according to the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service, this summer 10 outbreaks of acute intestinal infections have been recorded, two of them in pre-school education establishments. Overall, 186 people were injured, including 55 children.

First Vice PM is sure that spontaneous sale of food and sale of non-certified products played not the last role in the poisoning of citizens. "We have dismal results against the background of hot weather. I instruct the Health Ministry and the State Inspection for Rights Protection to initiate inspection of food products. Unscrupulous producers should fall under strict sanctions, including withdrawal of the license," Arbuzov concluded.
