First deputy foreign minister of Ukraine Ruslan Demchenko took part in parliamentary hearings "Ukrainian labor migration: state, problems and their solutions", the Foreign Ministry press service informs.

During his speech, Demchenko said that protection of the rights and interests of Ukrainian citizens abroad, including migrant workers, is one of the priorities of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine.

In this context, the participants of hearings were informed of the measures implemented by the Foreign Ministry and its overseas offices in key areas - expanding bilateral and multilateral legal framework, cooperation with Ukrainians abroad and migrant workers, provision of consular protection to Ukrainian labor migrants abroad.

First deputy minister noted that the FM will continue fulfilling the orders of the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych in ensuring the rights and interests of migrant workers abroad, maintaining their ties with Ukraine.
