The delay in the issuance of foreign passports is temporary and is associated with the change of a manufacturer of passport forms of citizen of Ukraine for traveling abroad, chairman of the State Migration Service Mykola Kovalchuk told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.
He reminded that foreign passport with a polycarbonate page were manufactured in Ukraine since 2007, and during that time the state purchased passport forms at the EDAPS private consortium. However, according to Kovalchuk, the SE "Integrated Printing Plant "Ukraina" made a competition this year.
The head of the Migration Service said that in this connection, on June 26, a tender was conducted, based on which the passport forms were purchased at the Integrated Printing Plant "Ukraina".
He said that today, around 100 thousand Ukrainians are waiting for their foreign passports.
