Ireland supports the signing of the Association Agreement and free trade area deal between Ukraine and the European Union at the Eastern Partnership Summit in Vilnius, Ireland's deputy Prime Minister and foreign minister Eamon Gilmore said at a meeting with Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov in Luxemburg on Monday.

"Ireland supports the signing of the Association Agreement at a summit in Vilnius in November and early completion of the procedures for the creation of a free trade area between Ukraine and the EU," Gilmore noted.

At the meeting, the sides discussed cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union, Ukraine and Ireland, and agreed to hold the Ukrainian-Irish business forum.

Gilmore also thanked Azarov for promoting investors in Ukraine.
