The European Union has set the requirements under which the Association Agreement with Ukraine will be signed, German foreign minister Guido Westerwelle said after a meeting with Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, ForUm correspondent reports.
In particular, the minister recalled that he previously stated that the EU would be happy to see Ukraine in their community, but Ukraine needs to fulfil a number of requirements for the signing of the Association Agreement.
The minister also noted that the meeting with the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych made a good impression on him, and except for the European integration, the parties had time to discuss some issues in the energy sector.
"We had quite a constructive dialogue in a good atmosphere. We hope that our cooperation will continue to develop in this way," Westerwelle concluded.
