Ukraine hopes that the 200th anniversary of the birth of Taras Shevchenko will be celebrated at an international level, culture minister of Ukraine Leonid Novokhatko said during the Hour of questions to the government, ForUm correspondent reports.
The minister said that the UNESCO adopted a request for consideration on celebration of the anniversary at the international level.
"We hope that it will be considered in November of this year, and our proposal will be supported, and the celebration will be held around the world in 2014," he said.
