The Healthcare Ministry of Ukraine is ready to increase state purchases of medicines for children with cancer, if there is a necessity, head of the Ministry's state purchase department Galyna Dovhanchyn told a briefing, ForUm's correspondent reports.

According to her, this year the Ministry plans to provide 100% of medicine for children with oncological and oncohaematological diseases. For this, the government will allocate more financing for state purchases of medicines.

In response to ForUm's comment on numerous complaints by parents of kids with cancer regarding lack of medicines, the official said the Healthcare Ministry had not received any. "This year we have increased financing for purchasing medicine for children with cancer up to 216 million hryvnias, which 125 million hryvnias more than for the same period of last year. According to the plan, we do not lack medicines," she said.

Summing up, Dovhanchyn added that all medicines for children with cancer (40 brands) undergo quality control and no complaints on falsification has been received as of today.
