The Kyiv Pechersk Lavra and St. Sophia Cathedral remain in the world heritage list of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), culture minister Leonid Novokhatko told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.

"Consideration of the Ukrainian issue at the 37th session of the World Heritage Committee of the UNESCO was completed. The session takes place in Cambodia. This is the issue that was raised in the previous session and concerns a transfer of our monuments the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra and St. Sophia, who are introduced in the world heritage list, to the list of risk," Novokhatko said.

According to him, the same issue about these two Ukrainian objects was raised during the previous conference.

"This issue was considered several hours. And I inform you that the voting completed two hours ago. Only one country voted against, it was Germany. The representatives from Switzerland, as well as Japan, Russia, etc supported us. And the voting was held positively," he said.
