There are no Ukrainian citizens among the victims due to the floods in Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic, spokesman of the Foreign Ministry Yevhen Perebyinis told a briefing on Tuesday.

He stressed that the water level in the rivers of Germany and the Czech Republic is decreasing. "According to the information of the Ukrainian Embassy in the Federal Republic of Germany, the water level in the rivers is gradually decreasing. Now the situation is more critical in Magdeburg (Germany), where 23 thousand residents of the city were evacuated from the zone of flooding," Perebyinis said.

He noted that the Consulate General of Ukraine in Germany recommends avoiding trips to the southern part of Bavaria.

"According to the information of the Ukrainian Embassy in the Czech Republic, the water level in the rivers in the country is decreasing, but at the moment a state of emergency proclaimed by the government is still in force with the exception of the Pardubice region," he said.

The spokesman of the Foreign Ministry said that the situation remains critical in Austria. In particular, the heavy rains have led to new floods that continue to bring significant harm to settlements and localities in the federal states of Vorarlberg, Tyrol, Salzburg, Upper and Lower Austria.
