Primary health care institutions are staffed by specialists by 76%, first deputy head of the Administration of the President of Ukraine Iryna Akimova told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.

"The lack of specialists in outpatient departments is always associated with family doctors. Ideally, before 2020, we plan to strengthen the primary care system and work within the framework of the institute of family physicians, "- she said.

Akimova also stressed that the number of doctors is planned to be increased due to medical university graduates.

"State Order of family physicians for the next year has increased significantly. Part of family physicians appears through advanced training of physicians of other specialties," first deputy head of the Administration of the President of Ukraine explained.

She added that the process of retraining will be voluntary.
