The Cabinet of Ministers instructed the ad hoc group to study the benefits of possible entry of Ukraine into the Customs Union of the Common Economic Space (Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus) by July, government commissioner for cooperation with Russia, the CIS, the Eurasian Economic Community and other regional unions Valeriy Muntiyan told journalists.
According to him, he took the lead of the group.
Muntiyan stressed that for accession to the Customs Union, Ukraine should see and understand the benefits, preferences, guarantees, compensations and how they will influence the agreements with other countries.
"The group will prepare a version of Ukraine's accession to the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space. If Ukraine joins, it will have real preferences," he noted.
According to the government commissioner, scientists are involved in work of the group. Information is gathered and calculations are carried out on indicators in agriculture, gross production, level of unemployment and employment, investment and cooperation.
